The Underrated Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens
I recently rediscovered this old lens of mine that I hid away more than a decade ago. Despite not being an L-series lens and having no IS, the lens was still a solid performer that was capable of producing great results with wonderful color and sharpness. It is an absolute bargain that this underrated lens can be had for $300 or less on the used market today in excellent condition. This lens paired with my 5D Classic produced many beautiful images back in the day. I think it might be time for me to pull out that legendary camera as well and relive the fun I had with that combo.
All images shown above were taken with either the 5D Mark II or 6D, both of which were great cameras as well. The sensors from these old Canon DSLRs never scored as high as their competitors, but the colors produced from them always looked good. The Canon color science is legit.
